Care & Maintenance

General Info

We thrive on delivering you quality cabinetry and custom joinery that will function and look great for a long time.

By following our quick and easy Care & Maintenance Instructions, you can help your Lambert kitchen or joinery retain their quality finish for years to come.

Please note: Board used in construction of cabinetry are water/moisture resistant, but NOT WATER-PROOF. Care must always be taken to dry any excessive moisture or water spillage.

Cabinetry

  • Please Do

To maintain the finish on your cabinet use only a soft cloth and weak solution of non abrasive detergent.

    • To remove scratches and marks on two pack polyurethane, rub gently with car cutting compound, car polish or household brass/silver cleaner.

    • The board used to construct the cabinetry are water and moisture-resistant, but not water-proof. Please take care in keeping your cabinetry dry from any excessive moisture or water spillage.

    • Towel dry all moisture off doors and inside cabinetry after cleaning.

    Please Don’t

    • Do not use scourers, abrasive, solvent based, silicone based or cream cleansers.

    • Avoid placing hot objects, such as saucepans or irons on the surface of your cabinetry.  This may cause discolouration or damage to the surface.

    • Any accidental damage to the surface should be re-sealed immediately to prevent the ingress of moisture. We recommend using a small amount of acrylic paint or sealer to reseal the surface.

    • Avoid excessive water around the base of the cabinets and the kickboards. Never flood the kitchen area and take particular care when washing floors.

    • Wipe moisture off immediately.

    • Failure to follow instructions may cause kickboards to swell and/or be discoloured by mould. Resultant damage will not be covered by warranty.

    • Keep appliances that produce steam and/or heat away from underneath overhead cabinets. If possible, place these appliances under a rangehood.

    • Regularly check the condition and function of seals around dishwashers and ovens, to avoid leakage as this may result in damage to the cabinetry.

Benchtops

  • Please Do

    • For basic stains, clean with mild detergents, wiping clean with a soft damp cloth or sponge.

    • For tougher stains on gloss and semi-gloss surfaces you can use a non abrasive polish or Brasso. For matte surfaces use a scourer pad or scotch bright to maintain the matte finish.

    • Stone benchtops have excellent heat and chemical resistant properties, however to preserve the surface and protect against damage from heat, please place hot items on a trivet, towel or chopping board, do not place them directly on the surface.

    Please Don’t

    • Do not place hot items directly on the surface for prolonged periods as extreme heat can cause permanent damage.

    • Do not cut directly on your benchtop surface, a chopping board should always be used. Cutting directly on the surface may cause scratches and blunt your cutting instrument.
